MeasureJ2X is unfortunately currently an English-only piece of software. It will hopefully someday soon have full multilingual support.

Until it does, its good to know that some users have experienced problems when running it under Windows with a multilingual pack installed, or with certain multilingual settings. These problems are easily fixed either by changing the multilingual settings under Windows or by downloading a version of MeasureJ2X that fixes the problem.

Symptoms

One of the most common symptoms that occurs is that a comma (‚) shows up as a separator in the measuring window:

and an error is displayed when trying to save measurements:

Fixes

The problem is caused when a language that has a 'comma' as a decimal separator is used as the language for 'non-Unicode' programs (MeasureJ2X is considered a non-Unicode program by the Windows operating system). This setting is used to show the menus in the language of choice.

Download Updated MeasureJ2X

This is MeasureJ2X version 4.2 with a temporary fix for the problem. It will ignore the language setting and force using English as the language for menus and force using a decimal point (.) for the number separator.

Downloading and installing the fix is the same as for any other version of MeasureJ2X. You will need your user name and password for downloading and your registration key to register once installed.

Change the Windows Language Settings

The problem can also be fixed by changing the 'Regional Language Settings' in Windows. This will, of course, change the setting for other programs running on your computer so may not be a desireable solution.

Corrected

When MeasureJ2X is running correctly, the measuring window will appear with decimal points in the numbers:
